PCVFL (Precision Coupled Visual Fault Locator) VFL is a light-weight, hand-held tool used to quickly
troubleshoot faults in the continuity of both single mode and multi-mode fibers, especially at fiber launch points
or in OTDR dead zones. A high intensity visible red laser beam is precision-coupled into the glass; breaks and
micro-bends deflect the red light into the jacket, producing a red glow at the point of the fault.

The BOLT-NL Optical Length Tester, uses a "looped" method of measuring glass length. This is accomplished by
looping back two fibers at one end of the cable run with a patch cord. The round trip time that the light takes to travel
through the glass is converted to length in kilometers, then divided by two to show the length of the glass itself.
There is no need to measure the length of all the glass; the length measurement can be applied to all fibers in the
cable. This method of length testing provides accurate measurements, and saves time and money.

Almost all optical network experts own a VFL similar to VOLT but they don't get the extra benefit length testing features! Unit functions as
any good quality Visual Fault Locator (VFL). However, with the same price range as other VFL's, it has the added benefit of doubling as a
LOOPING length tester! Many cabling warranties and bids are requiring meter based length tests to prove length of links. Unit uses 2
fibers and patch cables to establish a length test accurate to +/- 7 feet! VOLT's VFL functions up to 5 Kilometers (3.1 Miles). Loop length
testing functions up to 1.5 Kilometers.
