cable!
Pulse Suppressors, commonly called Launch Cables, are used to occupy OTDR "Dead Zones" which enable accurate loss
measurements on near-end and far-end connections of the fiber under test. They basically allow the high power launch pulse a
"settling down" time prior to entering the fiber under test. Besides - you would not want to plug a bad connector into the top of
your expensive OTDR would you? Some OTDR's contain an internal launch cable. What would happen if you plugged a bad
connector into the top of your OTDR then. Results - SAME PROBLEM!
This compact suppressor/launch box/launch cable comes with your choice of connectors. Pigtails will exit the unit for easy
connection to both OTDR and fiber under test. When running an OTDR trace on multimode fiber the launch/receive cable should
be at least 250 meters long. When running a trace on singlemode fiber the launch cable should be at about 1k in length."
There is a 7-10 day lead time on this item. Be sure to specify what connectors you require on each end. Standard connectors
are, ST, FC, LC, and SC.

FOT AMO (Advanced Mini OTDR)
The FOT Hand-Held Advanced Mini
OTDR (AMO) incorporates several benefits
including color screen, short dead zone, auto-test
function, Loss Test Set, Video Inspection Scope
screen and VFL.
The 37dB dynamic range and <1 meter dead zone
makes the AMO ideal for testing PON systems or
fiber links up to 240kn. The Event Analysis table
has a Pass/Fail feature and storage for up to
1,000 OTDR traces and 10,000 power meter
readings. It is shipped with Windows/Telcordia
SR-4731 compatible software with multi-trace
capability to assist in fast and easy reporting.

Live Mode. Live mode is another advanced feature normally found in high-end OTDRs. Live mode
continuously shoots OTDR traces every few seconds, allowing users to monitor changes in the optical fiber
in real-time.
In addition, when the OWLTrek is attached to a PC, OWLView software includes a Live Viewer mode that
takes the OTDR trace and expands it onto the PC display for easier viewing.
